Faculty have the ability to grant overrides which allow students to register for a class in Banner Self-Service.

During the Add/Drop period (first two weeks of the semester), all course adds will be via the Special Approval override only.

Important Notes:
  • All students approved to add a class will need the Special Approval override.
    • A student may need additional overrides to register for the class if they do not meet other requirements (i.e. capacity, prerequisite, or class year). In those classes, multiple override codes need to be entered.
  • For lab course adds and swaps, an override must be issued for both the lecture and lab.
  • Once an override is issued by a faculty member, the student must still register themselves for the course on Banner Self-Service to complete the enrollment.
  • Students do not need an override to drop a course.
